If you were one of the lucky few who managed to snap up tickets for Monty Python's final show at the O2 London, congratulations. But for the rest of us who didn't manage to get tickets, you're in luck. It's just been announced that the live event, titled The Last Night of Monty Python, will be broadcast in over 2,000 cinemas across the globe.

The concert, which sold out in 43 seconds, will see the remaining members - that's John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam - take to the stage of the O2 London for one final performance. We recently spoke to Gilliam about the night itself and, to be honest, he was a bit ambivalent about the whole thing. Listen here and judge for yourself.

There's no word as yet which, if any, Irish cinemas will be broadcasting the concerts but we'll definitely be keeping an eye out.
