Although Foxx himself had been talking about the long-awaited Tyson biopic, it looks like there's finally been some movement on the whole thing.
Acording to Uproxx via Jasmine Brand, Tyson himself has confirmed that the film is going ahead, "as of right now." According to Tyson, Foxx has officially signed on to play the boxer, but that filming hasn't begun. "A lot of people aren’t going to like the things I’ve done in my life," said Tyson.
As well as becoming the youngest person to be crowned with a heavyweight title and became the only man to win all three major heavyweight titles, Tyson was also sentenced to six years in prison for rape charges, serving three years before being paroled in 1995.
No director has signed on for the film as of yet, however earlier rumours suggested that Martin Scorsese was to take on the film. However, Scorsese is now currently working on The Irishman with Robert DeNiro, Harvey Keitel and Joe Pesci and will likely be involved with that for a significant amount of time.
