Recent IFTA winner Michael Fassbender is in actual talks to join the Gerardo Naranjo directed romantic drama The Mountain Between Us, say the folks at Variety.
Fassbender has been linked with an inordinate amount of roles of late, but has only actually signed on officially for two films - The Ridley Scott helmed/Cormac McCarthy penned The Counselor and third collaboration with Steve McQueen, Twelve Years a Slave. 'Mountain' is Based on the novel by Charles Martin, and chronicles two strangers who "survive a plane crash in the Colorado woods and are forced to rely on one another for survival, eventually falling in love."
He is still being linked with Darren Aronofsky's Noah's Ark epic, but production on that is moving quite slowly.
