Fair play to IADT graduate Miss Dannielle O'Connell. Her short motion picture featuring animated monsters who speak of their fears of communicating with others has won her the ReachOut.com 'Inspire a Generation' film competition. ReachOut.com is an online resource that helps young people cope through tough times. The kind folk at ReachOut launched this national film competition back in June with the hopes of getting aspiring filmmakers to explore mental health issues in a sensitive and positive light. Miss O'Connell's moving animation, entitled 'Monster in the Closet' took first prize at the exclusive Denzille Cinema in Dublin last Tuesday. The success of her feature lay in her ability to highlight how talking about one's problems was the first step in their recovery. She was presented with €2000 and a highly coveted internship with a top ad agency, Cawley Nea. We at entertainment.ie would like to congraulate the aspiring filmmaker on her achievement as well as all the runners up.
