Mel Gibson has reportedly entered serious discussions for a supporting role in Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills, after rumours of his possible casting in the sequel surfaced a few days ago.
Gibson has just been in the news because of the shit that went down with screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, but is now concentrating on going back to his roots as an actor. He has Get The Gringo (may have a different title here) due in the next few weeks, and is developing multiple projects as a director. Robert Rodriguez is probably directing again, even though the first film didn’t exactly go down like gangbusters. Still, it had an audience and he makes them cheap, so a profit must've been turned somewhere.
Rodriguez will shoot this film before getting to work on Sin City 2 (a flick most people actually really wanna see). Gibson's role will probably be about the size of Robert De Niro's in the first flick.
