One fan-favourite character has been officially confirmed to be making an appearance - but there are also two new superheroes joining in on the action too.
If you're looking to avoid any and all 'Doctor Strange 2' tease or spoilers, then we'd recommend averting your eyes immediately. You have been warned!
Still here? Okay, let's go.
A brand new 15 second TV spot for the big Marvel release has been unleashed, showing very prominently one very surprising inclusion in the Benedict Cumberbatch-led film.
Now, Professor X was first teased in the first look at 'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness' as a post-credits inclusion at the very end of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'. However, this new footage features doesn't hold back with its Patrick Stewart voiceover saying, "We will see what kind of Doctor Strange you are," before his trademark comic book yellow hover chair appears. The leader of the X-Men is expected to be a member of The Illuminati.
But, dear reader, there's more. The footage also shows Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) appearing to give into her dark side while battling two new recruits into the MCU - Captain Marvel and Captain Carter.
Now, we're not talking about Brie Larson's Captain Marvel, but what appears to be Maria Rambeau's. You see, this is the "Multiverse Of Madness" so different variants look to be coming out of the woodwork, and with different versions of Captain Marvel at Marvel's disposal, they're going all-in on delivering some fanfare for viewers. The character was seen briefly in another teaser released previously.
Captain Carter, on the other hand, is someone we haven't seen on cinema screens just yet - but we have seen on Disney+'s animated anthology series 'What If?'. And so, it looks like Peggy Carter will make her MCU reprisal in 'Doctor Strange 2' with Hayley Atwell expected to return to the franchise, this time in superhero form.
MCU fans have been paying very close attention to everything released for the upcoming film, including picking apart all of the posters that were released previously. Back in February after the release of the shattered glass poster, eagle-eyed fans spotted Captain Carter's shield in one of the glass fragments.
And so, with less than a week to go until the film's release, it's time to get very excited about what other surprises are in store for us when 'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness' premieres in cinemas on Thursday, May 5.
