Former Lost star Matthew Fox had gone off of the radar briefly, but has re-emerged with the news that he'll headline the political thriller epic Emperor, according to Variety.
The film is based on the true story of what went down when Japan surrendered to the US at the end of World War 2. Fox will play Bonner Fellers - one of the leading Japanese experts of the famed General Douglas MacArthur who served as the ruler of Japan after they tapped out of the war. It would also chronicle Fellers' affair with a young Japanese exchange student and his efforts to find her after the war ends.
Brit helmer Peter Webber (The Girl with the Pearl Earring) is calling the shots.
