If you haven't yet read our explainer from the day after the Oscars about what an inclusion rider is, here's the cliff notes.
It's basically a clause that can be added into any actor's contract that states at least 50% of the cast and crew of a film must have people from a diverse background. The whole thing was thrown into the spotlight by Frances McDormand during his Oscar speech, and already Brie Larson and Michael B. Jordan have agreed to take on the clause in all future films.
The next to sign up for the deal is Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who have agreed to have an inclusion rider attached to all films produced through their Pearl Street Films banner. The news was announced during SXSW, with the move being welcomed by Stacy Smith of the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative.
In a statement released to media by the Initiative, it said: "It’s great to see Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and the Pearl Street Films team using their influence to create opportunities for people from underrepresented groups to enter the industry. The Inclusion Rider is an important tool for Hollywood, and other industries, to create workplaces that truly reflect our diverse world."
