In case you’ve forgotten (we certainly did), one of the upcoming projects on Disney’s ever-expanding slate of live-action remakes is inspired by the beloved children’s classic Winnie the Pooh.
Not to be confused with Goodbye Christopher Robin (a forthcoming biopic which sees Domhnall Gleeson take on the role of Pooh creator A.A. Milne), Disney’s Christopher Robin project follows the titular young boy in his adulthood.
Now that he is grown up, Christopher Robin no longer has the imagination he once had and has abandoned his friends in Hundred Acre Wood. Now Winnie The Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger and the gang are determined to give him back his spark.
Ewan McGregor has been cast in the role, which also sees Robin married. His wife will be played by none other than Hayley Atwell, known by many as Marvel heroine Peggy Carter.
The casting makes sense really, given Marvel and Disney’s alliance. Atwell previously played Cinderella’s mother in Disney’s 2015 remake of Cinderella. No other character details have emerged just yet and there remains no release date for Christopher Robin.
