We reported last month that The Wolf of Wall Street's release date appeared to be in jeopardy. Reports suggested that the film still had a lot of work that needed to be done and the initial release date was absolutely out the window. Which, more importantly, meant that it would be out of the race for the Oscars. However, it seems Martin Scorsese is determined to get the film edited and rolled out before the Oscar deadline, which we're sure Leo DiCaprio (one of our favourite actors yet to win a golden gong) will be prettty pleased about.

Paramount were said to have pushed the release date back to 2014. But it now seems that Scorsese is aiming to get it all done and dusted by the 25th November, giving the studio a month to promote the film before what looks like a December release date. While we can't wait to see this film, if it does go ahead in December it will mean that Paramount may have to push another film back, most likely Chris Pine's Jack Ryan which is due for release on the 25th December. This will more than likely be pushed back to the 17th January, a less then favourable release date. Still though, it's good to know that Anchorman's hotly anticipated sequel will still hit our cinema screens on December 20th.

The Wolf of Wall Street follows real life trader Jordan Belfont, played by Leonardo Di Caprio, rise and fall involving crime, corruption, sex and drug abuse that took place on Wall Street in the 80's. Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey and Jon Favreau also star. Hopefully we will see it hit our screens in December.
