Mark Hamill announced late last night that he is to voice Chucky in the upcoming remake of '80s comedy-horror 'Child's Play'.
Although most people will know Hamill from his role as Luke Skywalker in the 'Star Wars' franchise, the actor became known throughout the '90s and '00s for his voice-acting, particularly as Joker in 'Batman: The Animated Series'.

He also reprised his voice role in the 'Batman: Arkham' trilogy of games, and various feature-length animated movies featuring the character. Hamill also voiced characters in cult children's animated show like 'Adventure Time' and 'Johnny Bravo'.
The original voice of Chucky in the 1988 version of 'Child's Play' was Brad Dourif, best known for his performance in 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' as Billy Bibbit, and in 'Lord of the Rings' as Wormtongue. That movie spawned a total of seven sequels, the most recent being 2017's 'Cult of Chucky'.
No release date has been set for 'Child's Play' remake here in Ireland.
