Hamill is an avid tweeter and Star Wars fans are constantly heckling him on the platform to find out deets on the franchise.
While he's been determined to keep his lips sealed, it would seem that Hamill has accidentally given away a crucial plot point for the next movie in his most recent tweet.
The post shows the actor shaving his beard having wrapped on Episode VIII.
Haven't seen my chin since May '15, so #FarewellFacialFur & #ByeByeBeard (at least til #EpisodeIX) @popculturequest pic.twitter.com/gaScz1okk6

The post was accompanied by the caption ‘Haven't seen my chin since May '15, so #FarewellFacialFur & #ByeByeBeard (at least til #EpisodeIX)’
It would seem then that, contrary to rumours that Hamill’s iconic Luke Skywalker character will die in Episode VIII, Skywalker will indeed return for the ninth instalment.
Fans have been quick to celebrate the news.
"AT LEAST TIL #EPISODEIX"

It could be a double bluff but we don't think Hamill would be so cruel.
