'Barbie' is undoubtedly one of the biggest box office smash hits of recent years.
Some of that has been down to the 'Barbenheimer' phenomenon, which boosted sales of both films and of cinemas all over the world - including in Ireland.
However, there's no doubt that the film has had its standalone selling points and its release was seen as an 'event', with many dressing up to attend screenings.
'Barbie' has earned a whopping $526.3 million (€481.6 million) at the US box office, and $657.6 million (€601.8 million) internationally, bringing its gross global total to over €1 billion - and the fact that it's still topping charts in many countries means that total will only continue to grow.
Normally it would be the studios - in this case, Warner Bros. - who would reap all of the post-production financial rewards, but the film's star Margot Robbie is set to earn a whopping bonus for her efforts.
Robbie's own production company LuckyChap Entertainment produced the film, and Variety reports that she is in line to make around $50 million in salary and box office bonuses. Director and co-writer Greta Gerwig - who is now the highest-grossing female director of all time - also stands to receive a bonus.
Not bad for a few months' work.
