Maisie Williams is following her Game of Thrones co-star Sophie Turner into the X-Men universe.
Williams is one of the first names to be cast in X-Men spin-off New Mutants.
The film will be an adaptation of the comic which follows the adventures of a diverse group of angst-ridden teenage mutants who are dealing with personal issues while also battling threats. In the comics at least they are all students in Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. James McAvoy is rumoured to be reprising the role of Professor X for the film but it is yet to be confirmed.
Williams is expected to play the role of Wolfsbane, AKA Rahne Sinclair, a Scottish werewolf who arrives at Xavier's School conflicted about her abilities and her religious beliefs.
In addition to Williams, The Witch's Anya Taylor-Joy has also been cast in the role of Magik, AKA Illya Rasputin. In the comics she's the sister of Colossus in the comics but it remains to be seen if this will be acknowledged in the film.
The film is going into production this summer and is scheduled to arrive in cinemas in April of next year.
