For our money, MacGruber is one of the most criminally underrated comedies of the past ten years.
Will Forte's anarchic blend of earnestness and barely-restrained insanity worked well in the SNL sketches of MacGruber and, very easily, graduated from there to a fully-fledged film. Although rumours have been swirling for some time that a sequel was planned and shelved, it now looks like it's officially back on as Jorma Taccone tweeted this the other day.

Taccone was previously a member of The Lonely Island group with Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer, whilst Forte has starred in shows such as 30 Rock, Tim And Eric Awesome Show, SNL and has led the critically-acclaimed Last Man On Earth for three seasons.
Obviously, MacGruber 2 is in the very early stages and the likelihood is that we won't see this until 2018 at the very least, but it's still quite cool that all the original parties are involved and that, quite honestly, they wouldn't be involved unless they had something funny in the bag.
