One of the finest directors of this, or any other generation, David Fincher is in early talks to helm a big budget biopic of the late Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs.
While there was a biopic recently starring Ashton Kutcher that came and went about as quickly as these films can, this one has serious pedigree behind it. Fincher, if he signs on, would be reuniting with his Social Network producer Scott Rudin and its Oscar winning writer, Aaron Sorkin.
According to Variety, the film is based on the biography, ‘Steve Jobs’ and would centre on three key speeches he gave in his career; the first being the launch of Mac, the second being NeXT (after he left) and the third being the iPod.
So, presumably, this won’t be a broad look at the man’s life, but rather moments, or at least situations that may have defined him and Apple.
If Fincher does sign on, we’ll be looking at a shoot date towards the end of the year.
