As tweeted by director Robert Rodriguez this morning, Lady Gaga is to take a role in the sequel, Machete Kills.
The first film had a lot of stunt casting, with the likes of Steven Segal and Robert De Niro popping up in brief, but eventful roles. This sequel will be no different; joining Gaga is Charlie Sheen (er, hilariously...) playing the President of The United States of America. Sheen revealed on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel that he shot all of his scenes in a day; but Rodriguez is known for shooting fast - so he may have squeezed a lot in. Returning is Danny Trejo and Jessica Alba; while Mel Gibson, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Vanessa Hudgens also appear.
Robert Rodriguez is an extremely talented filmmaker who seems to be indulging himself way too much. The first Machete was an attempt to get back to the nuts and bolts fun of Desperado and From Dusk 'til Dawn but couldn’t touch either.
