Twilight and Panic Room star Kristen Stewart is reportedly being pursued for the lead female role in the Wanted sequel that Angelina Jolie has refused to return for, according to the folks at E! Online.
At the moment it is firmly a rumour, but the producers at Universal Pictures are definitely pursuing other avenues for a female star, and Stewart's broody presence could certainly be vamped up sufficiently to be that actress. That said, this could be a publicity stunt from Stewart's people linking her with a high profile franchise gig, that doesn't involved pale f**kers with pointy delf. Although Dark Horizons are saying that director Timur Bekmambetov has met with Stewart once, but no offer was made.
Stranger things have happened and James McAvoy is contracted to return, so we should be seeing a sequel at some point regardless.
