'Knives Out' is officially getting a follow-up so pull those woolly jumpers out of your wardrobe.
Directed by Rian Johnson, best-known for 'Looper' and 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi', directed the murder mystery which packs quite a punch. 'Knives Out' sees a family gathering go horribly wrong when the patriarch of the clan dies. A detective arrives to investigate the suspicious death.
Daniel Craig plays the investigator and he's not the only big name of the feature. Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plunkett, Chris Evans, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette and Ana de Armas are among the cast too. Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford from '13 Reasons Why' and Jaeden Martell of 'It' fame star as well.
'Knives Out' won over audiences and critics all over. It has received numerous accolades and nominations at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs and Oscars. It grossed almost $300 million in the box office against a $40 million budget.
Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has confirmed (via Deadline) that a sequel is in the works and that production is set to start on it imminently. Lionsgate are behind such hit franchises as 'John Wick', 'The Hunger Games' and 'Saw'.
Johnson previously expressed being open to doing a follow-up to the whodunnit. The new story would likely follow Craig's character Benoit Blanc on a new case. It makes sense given the actor will be free from his 007 duties after 'No Time to Die'.
No word on a release date or cast attached just yet.
