Great Odin's raven, is this the best breaking news that has ever been aired? The legend of Ron Burgundy, anchorman for the KVWN Channel 4 news team is going to have his very own memoir entitled "Let Me Off At the Top: My Classy Life and Other Musings". The Will Ferrell Anchorman character has become the stuff of cult dreams, with some of the funniest quotes on screen in the 70's news channel parody, of which I will shamelessly try fit as much as possible in this article.
According to Random House imprint Crown Archetype, the man with the "salon quality" hair of glory will set the record straight on what makes Burgandy so rockin' in a memoir that will detail "never-before-told stories of his childhood" that led him to become the "greatest living news anchor". Everything a Ron follower could want to know, including how the anchor team formed and the story of Baxter his sidekick dog, will be revealed.
The release of the memoir will coincide with the sequel's pre-release promotion this Christmas, with the movie reportedly coming out around 20th December and the book in late November. Well, you know what they say about promotion, "they've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time." As well as the old team Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner returning for more anchor brawls, sex panther spritzes, afternoon delight and seventies style hangouts, a whole new set of favourites are about to be trapped in our glass case of emotion (don't judge, you all wanted to hear that quote). Drake, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Nicole Kidman, Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig and Vince Vaughn will all star in supporting roles for the film.
Burgandy fans everywhere are trying to "stay classy" while waiting with bated breath for the story of a man who, in his own words, "discovered the wheel and built the Eiffel Tower out of metal and brawn. That's what kind of man I am...It's science" .By the beard of Zeus, that sounds like a Christmas present waiting to happen.
