Kevin Smith has announced his next film after the Bruce Willis/Tracey Morgan starring Cop Out, and its one predictably close to his heart. The potty-mouthed director will helm ice hockey comedy, Hit Somebody.

Based on a song about a brutish hockey player who hits the big time on account of every team needing a horrible bastard to basically beat the crap out of their opponents, the news comes directly from the man himself. He won't be shooting it on as big a scale as Cop Out, though; "you go in with tailored expectations. You know you're kind of dealing with a specific audience, so you know, we'll probably make it on the inexpensive side."

You can have a listen to the song there below. Smith is a big hockey fan, and anyone who has actually seen a game will testify to the entertainment value. Also, Paul Newman hockey flick Slap Shot is awesome. If you haven't seen that film you're a cinematic moron and I feel sorry for you. Just kidding, I like you really, but go rent it now.
