The fresh look at the family animation delves a little further into the background of the troubled superhero, as well as his dog Ace, voiced by comedian Kevin Hart.
Unlike his most recent live-action cinema outing with Robert Pattinson, Batman will be taking more of a backseat here in 'Super-Pets', as the storyline will more closely follow Krypto the Super-Dog and his superhero owner Superman, who are voiced by Dwayne Johnson and John Krasinski respectively.
The Warner Bros. animated action-adventure, from director Jared Stern and Sam Levine also stars plenty more recognisable voices in the cast. With a movie title like 'DC League of Super-Pets', it's the animals who are going to steal the show this time around. When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto the Super-Dog must convince a rag-tag shelter pack consisting of Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the heroes.
