Although she said it herself in 2017, the retirement of Cameron Diaz hasn't fully gone over with people or sunk in a way.

Just recently, Selma Blair - who co-starred with Diaz in 2002's The Sweetest Thing - had to walk back a comment she made in an interview where she confirmed what most people already knew. In a self-deprecating tweet, Blair said she was "making a joke in an interview," and that she herself was "retiring from being Cameron Diaz’s spokesperson."

So, why bring it up again? Well, Diaz herself was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly where she clarified her position on the whole thing, along with her co-stars Christina Applegate and Blair. Applegate pointed out that she wasn't working much anymore as she was semi-retired - with Diaz doubling down on the whole retirement thing herself.

"I’m semi-retired, too, and I am actually retired, so I would love to see you ladies," said Diaz.

So, there you have it. Cameron Diaz is retired and that's all there is to it. You can read the full interview here in case there's any doubt.
