Yes, she's in 'Aquaman', the upcoming comic-book blockbuster which features sharks with lasers and Jason Momoa lifting a submarine out of water. No, we're not exaggerating any of those things. You can look at this trailer right here if you don't believe us.
According to an interview with EW, producer Peter Safran revealed that Andrews will voice the Karathen, "an undersea creature that holds the key to Arthur Curry’s quest to unite the Atlantean and surface worlds." Apparently, it's a big giant fish, but whatever.
As Safran explained to EW, "(we) wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, albeit somewhat digitally altered. And when we found out Julie was interested and available and excited to do it, casting her was a no-brainer.”
What's interesting as well is the fact that 'Aquaman' will be soon be going head-to-head with 'Mary Poppins Returns', which Andrews will have no part in. The reason for that, however, is as sweet as you'd expect.
Andrews said that she wanted to stay out of the sequel to her breakout film as she didn't want to distract from Emily Blunt's performance, which just seems like a really gracious thing to do.
'Aquaman' swims to Irish cinemas on December 14th.
