Jude Law is no stranger to playing the bad guy. So his casting as classic Disney villain Captain Hook just makes sense.

The actor is on board to play the antagonist of the live-action remake of 'Peter Pan', titled 'Peter Pan and Wendy'. Because Disney can't make enough of those remakes apparently.

David Lowery, who helmed one of the better Disney remakes, 'Pete's Dragon', will direct.

He's penning the script with frequent collaborator Toby Halbrooks, and Jim Whitaker is producing.

There have been numerous takes on J.M. Barrie's novel, including 'Hook', with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman, and Joe Wright's 'Pan'.

However Disney’s 1953 animated feature remains the most successful adaptation about the boy from Neverland.

Sources say the release is going to be theatrical rather than going to Disney Plus, as was the case with the 'Lady and the Tramp' remake.

Though critics haven't been overly fond of them, live-action remakes are making a mint at the box office. Last year, 'The Lion King' and 'Aladdin' grossed over $1 billion each.

Jude Law is very much a hot property at the moment now too.

He is also due to star in two much anticipated threequels - 'Sherlock Holmes 3' and 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3', the latter of which is due to resume filming in the UK soon.
