Steven Spielberg's long gestating Abraham Lincoln biopic that is to star Daniel Day Lewis as Honest Abe and Sally Field as his missus, has added some cracking names to its cast.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has signed on to play the slain American presidents son, while Tommy Lee Jones will portray Thaddeus Stevens, a Republican leader. The Hollywood Reporter also says that a bunch of other character actors will play smaller roles such as; Hal Holbrook, James Spader, (recent Oscar nominee for Winter's Bone) John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson and Bruce McGill.
The film is to start shooting in autumn for a release in late 2012. Expect serious Oscar buzz.
