Johnny Depp is to take his quirky finger out of his movie star ass and go and make a proper film for the first time in ages.
The ridiculously talented and charismatic leading man has been churning out some lazy fare for the past few years - especially when working with regular cohorts Gore Verbinski or (shudder) Tim Burton. Now, according to Deadline.com, the actor is set to headline the Wes Anderson directed The Grand Budapest Hotel, with a typically A-list well known supporting cast. Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom is shaping up to become one of his biggest financial hits, and a lot of the core cast from that production - specifically Ed Norton and Bill Murray - are being lined up to join this fledging production.
No word on a plot as of yet; but it's certainly a good match of director and material.
