It goes without saying that John Williams and Star Wars are intrinsically linked as lightsabers and Harrison Ford, so the announcement of Williams' departure from the series is pretty deflating.
Still, Williams' work for Star Wars has been incredible and it's now been confirmed that a new remastering of his original soundtracks - from The Phantom Menace right up to Return Of The Jedi - is getting a remastering. According to the official release, "the soundtracks were reconstructed from new hi-resolution (24/192) transfers supervised by Shawn Murphy and Skywalker Sound" (whatever that means) and will be available from May 4th this summer.
In case you thought that John Williams' work was lacking in The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson's also put a score-only version of the film that's available to anyone who purchased the movie. How does that sound, you ask?
Take a look at this.
