"You cannot be serious!"
Tennis legend John McEnroe has slammed a new biopic set to document the rivalry between him Swede Björn Borg.
Borg v McEnroe will focus in particular on the 1980 Wimbledon Championship match between the pair and will see Shia LaBeouf star as the American and Sverrir Gudnason play his great rival.
"I don't know if they are planning on doing the whole movie without input or any type of arrangement from me or Bjorn," he told Vanity Fair. "I haven't seen anything, and they've already started the movie."
McEnroe went on to say that Tennis movies in general have been pretty bad.
"I've never seen a good tennis movie - they all were terrible," he concluded. "I've been in a couple of them, and it was embarrassing to me how bad they were. But sometimes you have to hope for the best."
However McEnroe did concede that he hopes the movie "could be entertaining" and added that LaBeouf's performance might work seeing as he's supposedly "crazy".
