Although Joe Cornish has just the one directorial credit to his name - 'Attack The Block' - he's been attached to some pretty big stuff through the years.
He was rumoured to be the top choice to take on 'Star Trek Beyond', before it eventually ended up being Justin Lin, and he also helped to write Steven Spielberg's 'Tintin' adaptation with Edgar Wright and Steven Moffat. Not only that, Cornish was also the co-writer with Wright on 'Ant-Man' and even had a cameo in 'The Last Jedi'.
'The Kid Who Would Be King', however, feels more like a retro adventure in the style of 'The Pagemaster' or 'The Never-Ending Story'. Louis Serkis - who, yes, is Andy Serkis' son - plays Alex, a young student in inner-city London who's picked on by other students and finds an ancient sword buried in a stone on a building site near his house.
Sure enough, he plucks the sword out easily and soon finds out that it's actually Excalibur. The whole trailer kind of tells the whole story, and you've got Patrick Stewart in there as Merlin - which is just a fantastic casting choice, when you think about it.
'The Kid Who Would Be King' arrives in Irish cinemas on February 15th, 2019.
