A script that ended up on the Hollywood "black list" Pierre Pierre is finally being produced with Jim Carrey in the lead role, and Borat helmer Larry Charles directing, reports Collider.com.
In the flick Carrey will play a Frenchman who nickss the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in the hope of selling it so he can finally move out of his parents’ house. Jason Reitman was attached at one point to direct, but when he bounced the project went into a bit of a tailspin. Charles just worked with Sacha Baron Cohen again on The Dictator, which is due out this summer, and looks pretty damn funny.
Carrey last starred in Mr Poppers Penguins, and before that the criminally under seen I Love You, Phillip Morris.
