While we've known for a while that Tom Cruise was looking to play Maverick again in a Top Gun sequel, uber-producer Jerry Bruckheimer dropped another bit of sequel news on Jimmy Kimmel last night.
Pointing out that Jungle Book writer Justin Marks was tackling the new Top Gun 2 script, giving the studio a bit of a horn to move forward (it just smashed the US box-office on opening weekend) with Maverick and co, he also dropped that he had been talking to Eddie Murphy about a Beverly Hills Cop 4.
Murphy has long hinted at a sequel, especially after a TV pilot centring around the character's nephew failed to go to series. But the right director and script and this could be great.
Throw all the money at Shane Black. ALL OF IT!
