We're honestly baffled as to how the Divergent Series manages to attract the talent it does.
Well, actually, we're not. It's gotta be the paycheque. The Not-Hunger Games, sorry, Divergent Series boasts an impressive cast that includes Kate Winslet, Ray Stevenson, Maggie Q, Miles Teller, Ashley Judd and Viola Davis.
Now we can add Jeff Daniels to that list, as the former Newsroom star will be joining the cast as David, the leader of the Genetic Welfare Bureau.
What's that, you ask? No idea. According to a Wiki article we skimmed over, they're responsible for splitting society into factions. It makes sense if you've watched the movie.
Actually, it still doesn't make sense.
Anyway, Daniels is filling up his dancecard with big budget productions. He'll be starring in the Aaron Sorkin-penned Steve Jobs movie and will next be seen in Ridley Scott's The Martian alongside Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain.
So, what to make of this? Look, the last one was pretty crap and the first one was pretty meh. We're expecting almost nothing from the next two - which, by the way, is going to be split into two films.
Fun times.
