Actor and filmmaker Jason Segel has confirmed that he will not return for a sequel to The Muppets, be it as scripter OR star.
Segel is out doing the rounds for his indie flick, Jeff Who Lives At Home, and spewed to The Hollywood Reporter, "My goal was to bring back The Muppets, and I feel like we did it,” he said. “I just felt like I did what I set out to do. I’m really happy that they’re back to where they belong." He added when asked if he'd appear, "It doesn’t really make organic sense," he told THR. "Maybe I’ll do something in the future but no, I’m just sort of happy to send my kids off into the world."
The film has grossed in and around $160 million worldwide, and won an Oscar for the song "Man or Muppet."
