There's a headline and a half for you -  "maple syrup heist comedy." Seth Gordon, director of King of Kong and Identity Thief, will be directing everybody's favourite tall man, Jason Segel in what's being described as a 'dramedy' by studio sources.

The film, based on the real-life robbery of over $20 million in maple syrup from a warehouse in Canada, will see director Seth Gordon's second attempt at a feature film after Identity Thief and his first time working with Jason Segel. Chris Sheridan, who's a producer and writer for Family Guy, will be penning the script.

It's way too early to tell whether this will work or not. Jason Segel's no doubt keen to move back into film now that How I Met Your Mother is in its final season. We already reported that Cobie Smulders is, likewise, eager to work in film and away from TV so naturally, Segel is doing likewise. We absolutely loved his character in Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall is an underrated comedy so it could be good for him to head back into film.
