Anyways, the singer is set to make his feature debut in 'Cats' as Rum Tum Tugger. The character, according to Andrew Lloyd Webber, was originally modelled on Mick Jagger, so the new adaptation is going to be markedly different.
The cast for 'Cats' is already looking pretty stacked already. Ian McKellen will play Gus the Theatre Cat, Idris Elba will play Macavity the Mystery Cat, whilst Judi Dench and Jennifer Hudson are set to play Old Deuteronomy and Grizabella respectively. Taylor Swift, James Corden (sigh) and Rebel Wilson are also in there as well, and no doubt there'll be more casting before this is all done.
Really, the question you have to ask is any of this is actually necessary? Who really needs to see another adaptation of 'Cats' and why does James Corden feel like he deserves to be in every musical adaptation going?
Who knows. 'Cats' is due to enter production next month with a release date set for December 20th, 2019.
