The jury is still out on whether or not Jared Leto has delivered a portrayal of The Joker that can stand up alongside the likes of Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger but one thing for sure is he sure as hell loved the process of trying.
While some of his methods didn't exactly sit well with all of his castmates, there's no denying he put a lot of effort into the role and he certainly hopes Suicide Squad isn't the last we see of his Joker.
In a recent interview, he even went as far as to say he'd be happy to just play the Joker for the rest of his career.
“I hope Suicide Squad is an introduction and not the end! Because I could easily just play the Joker a couple more times and then retire. Because it’s so fulfilling and so creative and it’s so imaginative. It’s really difficult to think about doing anything else!"
When pressed on where the character would go after Suicide Squad, he certainly had his preference.
"I think it would be incredible to see Batman and the Joker go head-to-head! This Batman [Ben Affleck] and this Joker. I mean, I don’t know, that might be too much! But that would be fun.”
If recent speculation that Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie will be set in Arkham Asylum turns out to be true, then it certainly would make sense for The Joker to appear considering he was the ringmaster of all the mayhem in the video game and the Grant Morrison-penned graphic novel of the same name.
