Jamie Foxx will be presented with the MTV Generation Award at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday (14.04.13).

The 'Ray' actor will receive the coveted accolade at the ceremony, which is set to be hosted by Rebel Wilson, and was chosen because of his wide-ranging talents.

Stephen Friedman, President of MTV said: 'As a comedian, Academy award-winning actor and Grammy award-winning artist, Jamie Foxx is a triple threat superstar unlike any we've seen in a long time.

'Jamie has captivated audiences for nearly two decades with a dizzying array of memorable performances, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate him at this year's Movie Awards.'

The MTV Generation Award is the MTV Movie Awards highest accolade, acknowledging an actor who can be counted on to engage the MTV audience with everything he or she does.

Past recipients include Johnny Depp, Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.

Brad Pitt, Steve Carell, Melissa McCarthy, Zac Efron, Kerry Washington, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Amanda Seyfried, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto and Kim Kardashian are confirmed to present.

'Hunger Games' star Liam Hemsworth will introduce the two-and-a-half minute never-before-seen official teaser trailer for 'Catching Fire', the second movie in the 'Hunger Games' franchise.

Following the performances, fans will be able to view the performances via MovieAwards.MTV.com and Artists.MTV.

The MTV Movie Awards will be shown on MTV UK on Monday, April 15 at 9pm.
