The third film in a franchise previously though long dead, dominated the American box-office this passing weekend.
Jackass 3D coined a huge $50 million opening, leaving fellow new entry, Red, for dust at second by grossing $27 million more during its first three days of release. Red's $ 23 million weekend haul was still seen as a success by studio Summit, though, as the modestly well reviewed Bruce Willis starrer is expected to show some legs.
Elsewhere The Social Network and The Town held extremely well, taking their totals to $63 million and $80 million respectively. Both should pass the magical $100 million mark domestically alone.
