He burst on to our screens in What Richard Did earlier this year, gave another stellar performance in Kirsten Sheridan's Dollhouse, and now it looks as though Jack Reynor is really set to hit the big time with some rather big machines.
According to IFTN, Reynor has officially been offered a lead role opposite Mark Wahlberg in Michael Bay's fourth Transformers film. They say Reynor auditioned three times before he was offered the part by Mr Bay himself after the director saw him as Richard in the highly acclaimed Lenny Abrahamson flick. The Dublin lad had stiff competition for the role with seasoned stars like Luke Grimes, (Brothers and Sisters), Landon Liboiron (Terra Nova), Brenton Thwaites (Blue Lagoon: The Awakening) and Hunter Parrish (Weeds) all auditioning alongside him.
There's still no official announcement to confirm the casting, but we've deffo got our fingers crossed for the 20 year old Irishman. Our Caroline had a great chat with Jack earlier this year and we think he'd be an awesome replacement for Shia LeBeouf; PLUS we'd only love to see how he'd fare with Mark Walhberg's on-screen daughter.
Transformers 4 would be his second major Hollywood role; He's just finished filming The Delivery Man opposite Vince Vaughn and Irish actor Simon Delaney.
Makes it even more apt for Jack to be nominated for Ledgebag of the Year in The erics eh lads? Don't forget to vote!
