You can't say nothin' in Hollywood anymore without pissing somebody off, can you? Although, comparing Jennifer Lawrence's work to slavery was never going to go down well.
Yesterday, we told you about director David O. Russell rather boldly saying; 'Talk about 12 years of slavery, that's what the franchise ['The Hunger Games'] is'. The director went on a rant saying that: "Being in the 'Hunger Games', they just keep her on a hamster wheel and then she spends her vacation on 'American Hustle'." Ouch, to all concerned there.
Today however, he has retracted it all and said his apologies; "Clearly, I used a stupid analogy in a poor attempt at humour. I realized it the minute I said it and I am truly sorry." he told the MailOnline.
The American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook director would know the star well at this stage, so he was probably just trying to have her back really. The star did get pneumonia last year after all. However, nothing can really slow J-Law down at the moment anyways, as she went home with the Best Actress gong at the Golden Globes on Sunday. No doubt she will get the nod in the Oscar nomineess list that are out tomorrow as well.
It's all go for her, so nice to know somebody is looking out for her!
