It was announced last week that Jack Nicholson was coming out of 'retirement' to star in the US remake of hit German comedy, Toni Erdmann.
Nicholson is set to play the prankster father of Kristen Wiig's character who comes to visit her and turns her corporate working world upside down.
Now we can't say we're too excited about the news that Toni Erdmann is to be remade because the original is pretty much perfect and we can't really see how it could be improved upon. That being said, it will be great to see Nicholson return to the big screen.
However it's now emerged that Nicholson might not have been starring in the film at all were it not for Bill Murray's poor organisational skills.
“I’m in trouble with myself because Kristen Wiig, who I think is so wonderful, sent me something and said, ‘Would you look at this thing?’ And I’m just not very organised,” he told CNBC.
"I didn’t get around to watching this thing that she wanted me to watch, and then she said, ‘Well, Jack Nicholson took the job.’ Well, you know that guy’s a poacher. He’ll take anything. So I think I’m out of that one.”
