The deal that Marvel and Sony made to allow Spider-Man to become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be causing as much confusion for the people involved as it is for the fans.
Nobody seems to know just how many MCU movies Spider-Man can be expected to be seen in, outside of his own solo outing, Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tom Holland recently insisted that Homecoming is the first part of a trilogy, however in the past none of the execs at Marvel or Sony would confirm that any future solo Spider-Man movies within the MCU were planned.
Sony's announcement that they would be going ahead with a Tom Hardy led spinoff of Venom has caused even more confusion. Initially it was expected that the film wouldn't have any connection with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige confirmed as much when he said that there were no plans for Venom to be involved in the MCU.
However in a recent interview with both Feige and Sony's Amy Pascal, the latter insisted that we may indeed see Holland's Peter Parker in the Venom movie.

While Pascal seems pretty sure, this information looks like news to Feige given his facial reaction to her comments.
It will be interesting to see how this one pans out. Here's hoping Holland is involved because periphery characters from Spider-Man's universe getting their own movies without any involvement from the man himself.
