Although we haven't had a chance to sit down and watch Terminator: Genisys just yet, the early word is that Arnie's back in the saddle.
So why wouldn't he take a look at some of his other movies and see if they can be walked out of development hell. As we already know, the Twins sequel - Triplets (yes, we know) - is currently being written with a view to begin filming at some stage quite shortly.
However, one film that's languished for quite some time is the next Conan movie. After the abortive reboot with Jason Momoa, the Legend of Conan - or King Conan, as it was once known - looks like it may be on the up again.
During the press tour for Genisys, Schwarzenegger was quizzed about its status and, surprisingly, he seems positive about its fate.
"It needs some tweakage but really they’ve done an extraordinary job with it, very thoughtful so I’m looking forward to working with them on that as soon as this gets out of the way, because I’m very focused on one thing at a time. Then we do the next thing."
The 'they' he's referring to is Chris Morgan, who wrote Furious 7 (yes, it had a script) and the actually-batsh*t Wanted with James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie.
Morgan's been talking up the film as well, and by all accounts, he's very excited. "Our tone is a logical extension of the character established in the ’82 film but 30 years later. When we meet him again, Conan has been many things over the course of his life - a thief, a warrior, a pirate, a king, a legend - and is now an older man. Think Unforgiven with a sword-wielding barbarian."
Unforgiven with a sword-wielding barbarian? We can get on board with that.
Look, the original was a bit of a mess, but you could see there was something there. It was bold, operatic and Basil Poledouris' score was just fantastic.
Leaving aside the ropey effects, there was something unique about it that could definitely be updated and made relevant again.
The problem, as we see it, is that it's never really made a huge amount of money. The first one flopped, the second one's considered one of Arnie's worst films and the reboot was another dud.
The only thing, realistically, that's going to get Legend of Conan out into the cinema is a lot of good-will, a brilliant script and a director will to stick his neck out.
Keep in mind, Oliver Stone wrote the original with Milius and he hasn't had a hit in some time. Sure, that Snowden biopic looks pretty decent - but will it actually make bank? Probably not.
Likewise, the last thing Milius directed was a TV movie about Theodore Roosevelt. We're not saying either of those are any way likely, but they'd be great choices.
Our choice? Duncan Jones. He's working on World of Warcraft and he's a real fan of Conan. That's what Conan needs - some who's genuinely enthusiastic about it and knows how to right the previous wrongs.
What do you think? Would watch a third Conan movie? Sound off in the comments!
