Kenneth Branagh is set to direct and will reunite with 'Murder on the Orient Express' stars Judi Dench and Josh Gad in the live-action adaptation.
Eoin Colfer's 'Artemis Fowl' is heading to the big screen and today Disney announced that the film has found its lead in the form of newcomer Ferdia Shaw.
Shaw will make his big-screen debut after beating out over 1,200 candidates for the role.
The book centers around young Artemis Fowl, who is attempting to uncover a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance.
Dench will play Commander Root, the steely leader of the fairy police force, while Gad will play Mulch Diggums, a kleptomaniacal dwarf who works for the fairies.

'Artemis Fowl' is currently set for release on August 9th, 2019.
