Irish actress Victoria Smurfit (Ballykissangel, The Clinic, Cold Feet) has landed a major movie role in an indie/comedy film alongside Natalie Imbruglia and Amy Smart (Crank, The Butterfly Effect, Just Friends). The movie is an adaptation of popular novel The Unkindness of Ravens, and centres on a struggling married couple who, while entertaining a group of friends on the weekend of the 4th of July, find their lives changed forever. Smurfit has been taken on in the role of Emma, one of the friends to leading lady Amy Smart.
Fair play to Victoria, it's great to see Irish talent continuing to do well elsewhere, not to mention her success with landing TV roles in the form of the TV series Missing and a spot on the new pilot TV show of Dracula.
Between her roles in About a Boy, this, and her flash in the pan appearance in Leonardo DiCaprio's The Beach, we reckon we'll be seeing a lot more of Ms Smurfit as time goes by.
