Sonic just got a bit sexier as Idris Elba has joined the cast.

Previous animated characters that Idris Elba has voiced include Shere Khan in 'The Jungle Book', Chief Bogo in 'Zootopia', and Fluke in 'Finding Dory'.

In 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2', he'll voice fan favourite character of the videogame series Knuckles.

Knuckles is a red Echidna and the guardian of the Master Emerald.

He's known to be hot-headed and a fighter.

The character first appeared as an antagonist in 1994’s 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3'.

Then he befriended Sonic and his ally Tails, and became a protagonist in 1995’s 'Sonic & Knuckles'.

Returning cast members to the 'Sonic' sequel include James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally and Jim Carrey.

Aside from Idris Elba, Shemar Moore is another new cast member.

Jeff Fowler is returning to direct the sequel.

Last year's 'Sonic the Hedgehog' movie ended up being one of the highest grossing movies of 2020. (Yes, the year of the pandemic)

You can see Idris Elba on the big screen now in DC movie 'The Suicide Squad'.

He also stars in Netflix movie 'The Harder They Fall', which arrives on the streaming service in November.
