Taika Waititi is due to play Hitler in the upcoming anti-war / anti-fascism / totally-nuts satire 'Jojo Rabbit', where the New Zealander will play Adolf Hitler.
As in, leader of the Nazis and gigantic gaping a-hole Adolf Hitler. Yes, the guy who directed 'Thor: Ragnarok' and voiced the scene-stealing Korg from that same movie is going to play Hitler. When announcing the film, Waititi made the point that the purpose of the film is to annoy fascists and Nazis everywhere with the movie, and going by the general premise, it looks like it'll more than achieve its goal.
To be clear, Waititi is playing an imaginary version of Hitler and the movie has an impressive cast that includes Rebel Wilson, Scarlett Johansson, and Sam Rockwell so it's clearly got something going for it. Not only that, 'Hunt For The Wilderpeople' was one of the best comedies of the decade so Waititi following that up with something as bold as this is definitely worth taking notice of.
No release date has been set for 'Jojo Rabbit'.
