'Metal Heart' is set to be the new, laugh-out loud Irish comedy-drama that you'll want to see next month.
The movie is a coming of age story, revolving around family and growing up. While it's set to have that trademark Irish wit we all know and love, 'Metal heart' is also said to be poignant, sophisticated, and wise.
Hugh O’Conor, known for his acting roles in TV series such as 'Resistance' and 'The Fall' has taken up directing duties on the movie. He commented, "I'm over the moon that 'Metal Heart' will be seen on the big screen this summer. I've loved working with Treasure on it, and it's such an honour to be working with Break Out Pictures on their first official release. We had such a great cast and crew, we just hope Irish audiences enjoy it as much as we did making it!"
Starring Jordanne Jones, Leah McNamara, Moe Dunford, Seán Doyle, Aaron Heffernan and Dylan Moran, 'Metal Heart' is written by Paul Murray and produced by Claire McCaughley and Rebecca O’Flanagan for Treasure Entertainment.
The full synopsis of the movie is as follows:
'Metal Heart' tells the story of fraternal twin sisters Emma and Chantal who are worlds apart. Emma is self-conscious, and unsure of which path to take in life - she dreams of starting a band (they have a pie-chart) with her best friend Gary, who secretly has a crush on her. Chantal, meanwhile, is beautiful, confident, and knows exactly where her life is headed. When their parents go away for the summer, their simmering sibling rivalry threatens to boil over, especially when the mysterious boy next door moves back in...
'Metal Heart' arrives in Irish cinemas on June 28th.
