In an announcement this morning from the famous Pinewood Studios, the details of the new James Bond movie, the 24th installment of the hugely successful franchise, were announced.
The new film will be called Spectre, and the full cast were in attendance as the details were announced as to who would fill the coveted role of 'Bond girl' as well as the villains of the piece, with much speculation beforehand pointing towards Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista.
Those rumours were confirmed today as Bautista was named in the role of Mr. Hinx (a henchman if ever there was one) along with Waltz as the main villain, Oberhauser, at an announcement on the Albert R. Broccoli 007 stage in Pinewood, which was built in 1976 for The Spy Who Loved Me.
Léa Seydoux playing Madeleine Swann and Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra were presented to the crowd as the new femmes fatales and the film will shoot for seven months in a whole range of locations, including taking Bond back to the snow in the Alps. Andrew Scott will join the crew also as part of the team at Whitehall, playing the role of Denbigh.
Continuing a relationship between Aston Martin and the franchise that has lasted for over 50 years, the company have also produced a new car for the movie, the DB10, which was unveiled at the announcement.
Before today's event, we already knew that Sam Mendes, who directed 2012's hugely successful Skyfall, would be back behind the camera, while Daniel Craig would reprise his role as the super spy. Ralph Fiennes is also returning as M, along with Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Rory Kinnear as Tanner and Ben Whishaw returns as Q, while the team that penned Skyfall have also put together the script for Spectre.
Filming will begin on Monday morning, with the release expected to be, provisionally, on October 23rd 2015 in the UK and Ireland.
